Quick answers

The Short Version

Call 19284037180 or send us what you know about the door and we'll tell you what we can over the phone, and what has to wait until someone stands in front of it.

Door age clues

A lot of Sierra Vista houses in the areas we work went up between 1971 and 1995, with the median landing around 1978, and the hardware on a door that age tells us a lot before we even leave the shop. The panel count, the spring type, whether the opener is original, whether the track is bent or just loose - all of that changes a number, and we'd rather give you a real one than a guess that moves once we're on site.

Phone quote checklist

To get close on the phone, tell us: the number of panels, whether it's a single or double door, roughly how old the door or opener is, and what it's actually doing wrong (won't open, makes noise, off its track, spring snapped).

Photos before quoting

If you can send a photo of the spring setup above the door, that helps more than almost anything else you can tell us. We can't quote blind on anything involving a bent track, water damage to the bottom panel, or an opener that's been rewired by someone other than the manufacturer. Those need eyes on the job.

Our team

Who Turns Up

We work on garage doors and openers for houses in Sierra Vista and the surrounding area, including Huachuca City, Sierra Vista Southeast, Whetstone, Elgin, Tombstone, and Sunnyside.

Aging original hardware

Most of the stock we see dates from the 1960s through the 1990s, and a fair share of it is original hardware that's never been touched - torsion springs that are decades past their wind count, openers with no safety reversal sensors, tracks that were never leveled right in the first place. We don't size up a job from a photo text and call it done.

Estimate before any work

Someone drives out, looks at the spring, the track, the rollers, the cables, and the opener, and gives you a number before any work starts. If the estimate changes once the door's open and we find something the homeowner didn't know was there - rust through a hinge, a cracked bottom bracket - we tell you before we touch it, not after.

Residential door types covered

We're set up for standard residential doors: single and double, steel and wood panel, torsion and extension spring systems. That covers most of what's sitting in driveways around here, given the age and type of housing stock in this part of Arizona.

Our limits

What We Do Not Take On

We don't quote commercial roll-up doors, and we don't do custom architectural doors that need a specialty manufacturer order - those jobs need parts and lead times that don't fit how we're set up. We also won't give a firm number over the phone for a door with visible frame damage, a bowed track, or any sign the wall header itself has shifted. That's a structural look, not a hardware fix, and pricing it blind would just mean redoing the number later.

If your opener is older than the door itself or was installed by someone working outside the manufacturer's spec, we'll still look at it, but we're honest that sometimes replacing it costs less than chasing down parts for something discontinued. We'd rather tell you that up front than run up a bill trying to save an opener that isn't worth saving.

A tan stucco garage with a black garage door and a brown tiled roof.

One more limit worth naming: if a door's spring and track are both near the end of their life, patching one side usually just moves the failure to the other. We'll say so instead of selling a repair that buys you a few months.

Questions

Common questions

Can you give me a price over the phone?

We can give you a range if you tell us the door size, panel count, approximate age, and what's wrong with it. A firm number needs someone to see the spring, track, and opener in person, since two doors with the same symptom can have very different causes.

Do you serve areas outside Sierra Vista proper?

Yes. We take jobs in Huachuca City, Sierra Vista Southeast, Whetstone, Elgin, Tombstone, and Sunnyside, along with Sierra Vista itself. Call 19284037180 with your address and we'll tell you if it's within reach.

What should I have ready when I call for a quote?

The door's panel count, whether it's single or double, roughly how old the door and opener are, and a clear description of what it's doing - not opening, grinding noise, off the track, broken spring. A photo of the spring area above the door helps too.
